Steel Accounting Group opened its doors almost thirty years ago when Richard Steel decided to start his own accounting firm in Libertyville, Illinois under the name Richard Steel & Associates, Ltd. The company’s initial focus was assisting small and medium-sized businesses with their accounting and tax needs. The company continued to grow and add further specialties such as payroll and individual tax preparation.  When Richard Steel decided to take a step down from the day-to-day operations of the business at the end of 2016, Nancy Brunn took over the active management of the firm, and the company name was changed to Steel Accounting Group.
